What are the processes and advantages of surface treatment of hardware parts?

1: Electroplating

Electrolysis is the process of attaching a layer of metal film to the surface of the metal, which can prevent corrosion, weldability, conductivity, and enhance the appearance. Usually electroplated with gold, silver, nickel, zinc, tin.

Advantages: After plating, the surface has high gloss and the metal appearance is beautiful. It is a surface treatment process that meets most electronic components.

2: Anodized

The anodic oxidation of aluminum is mainly based on the electrochemical principle to form a layer of aluminum oxide film on the surface of aluminum and aluminum alloy. This layer of oxide film has special characteristics such as protection, decoration, insulation, wear resistance, etc.

Benefits: Builds strength and achieves any color except white. It can realize nickel-free sealing and meet the nickel-free requirements of Europe, the United States and other countries.

3: Electrophoresis

Used in stainless steel, aluminum alloy, etc., can make the product present various colors, and maintain the metallic luster, while enhancing the surface performance, with good anti-corrosion performance.

Advantages: It can do multi-color surface treatment, and can realize the surface treatment of complex structure; and it can cooperate with sandblasting, polishing and wire drawing follow-up processes.

4. Micro-arc oxidation

The process of applying a high voltage in an electrolyte solution (usually a weakly alkaline solution) to form a ceramic surface film layer is the result of the synergistic effect of physical discharge and electrochemical oxidation.

Advantages: ceramic texture, mostly used for appearance, and good heat dissipation performance, but the color is single and the cost is high.

5. PVD vacuum plating

Physical vapor deposition is a technique that mainly uses physical processes to deposit thin films.

Advantages: It can be coated with high-hardness plating and high wear-resistant cermet decorative coating on the metal surface

6. Powder coating

The powder coating is sprayed onto the surface of the workpiece by powder spraying equipment (electrostatic plastic spraying machine). Under the action of static electricity, the powder will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powdery coating; Flat curing to final coating with various effects (different kinds of effects for powder coatings).

Rich colors, optional high gloss and matte; low cost, suitable for architectural furniture products and chassis shells, etc., strong ability to cover defects

7. Metal wire drawing

It is a surface treatment method that forms lines on the surface of the workpiece by grinding the product to achieve a decorative effect. According to the different textures after wire drawing, it can be divided into: straight wire drawing, chaotic wire drawing, corrugated, and swirling.

Advantages: The brushed treatment can make the metal surface obtain a non-mirror-like metallic luster, and the brushed treatment can also eliminate the slight flaws on the metal surface.

8. Sandblasting

Compressed air is used as the power to form a high-speed jet beam to spray the spray material onto the surface of the workpiece to be treated at high speed, so that the appearance or shape of the outer surface of the workpiece surface changes, and a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness are obtained.

Advantages: achieve different reflective or matte. It can clean the tiny burrs on the surface of the workpiece and make the surface of the workpiece more smooth.

9. Polishing

Modification of the workpiece surface using flexible polishing tools and abrasive particles or other polishing media.

Advantages: Without changing any physical properties of the material, it can be used as a pre-treatment process for other surface treatments.
