Vertical machining center refers to the machining center where the spindle is vertical. Its structural form is mostly fixed column. The worktable is rectangular without indexing rotation function. It is applicable to machining of disk, sleeve and plate parts. It generally has three linear motion coordinate axes, and a rotary table rotating along the horizontal axis can be installed on the workbench for machining spiral parts.
So, which parts are suitable for vertical machining centers?
The vertical machining center is convenient for clamping, operation, observation of processing conditions and debugging procedures, and is widely used. However, due to the limit of column height and tool changing device, it is impossible to process too high parts. When machining the cavity or concave surface, it is not easy to discharge the chips, and in serious cases, it will damage the tool and machining surface, affecting the smooth processing.
The vertical machining center has good performance and high degree of automation, and can process special parts that are difficult or impossible to be processed by ordinary machine tools. What parts can be processed by the vertical machining center?
1. High machining accuracy, complex shape and structure, especially for parts with complex curves, curves and contours, or box shaped or shell shaped parts with unopened cavities.
2. Parts that must be milled, drilled, reamed, planed or tapped in one clamping process.
3. Expensive and difficult to obtain parts are not allowed to be scrapped.
4. Process parts with low productivity, high labor intensity and difficult quality control on ordinary machine tools.
5. Military parts or parts with multiple varieties, specifications, single pieces and small batch production are used for model modification comparison and performance or function test.
These are suitable for vertical machining center processing parts, which are difficult to process on ordinary machine tools. Machining with vertical machining center can improve machining efficiency and accuracy, and reduce the damage rate of parts.
