Metal Stamping Hot stamping is a stamping processing method that heats metal materials to a certain temperature range. The characteristics of hot stamping are: it can eliminate internal stress, avoid work hardening, increase the plasticity of materials, reduce deformation resistance, and reduce power consumption of equipment.
Cold stamping refers to the processing of metal materials at room temperature, and is generally suitable for blanks with a thickness of less than 4mm. The characteristics of cold stamping are: no heating, no scale, good surface quality, convenient operation and low cost. The disadvantage is that there is work hardening, which will cause the metal to lose its ability to deform further. Cold stamping is suitable for material processing with uniform thickness and small fluctuation range, smooth surface, no spots, no scratches, etc.
The structure of the die in stamping: The die is a die that separates or deforms metal materials. It consists of upper mold and lower mold. The die handle of the upper die is fixed on the slide block of the punch press and moves up and down with the slide block, while the lower die is fixed on the workbench of the punch press.
The punch and the die are the working parts in the die that deform or separate the blank, and are respectively fixed on the upper template and the lower template by a pressure plate. The upper and lower templates are respectively equipped with guide sleeves and guide posts to guide the alignment of the punch and the die. The guide plate and positioning pin are used to control the feeding direction and feeding length of the blank respectively. The function of the unloading plate is to release the workpiece or blank from the punch after stamping.
Classification of punching dies: punching dies are indispensable dies in stamping production. Punching dies can basically be divided into three types: simple dies, continuous dies and composite dies.
